ANNE FERREL

Anne, a kind generous, thoughtful, compassionate and loving soul passed away on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009 at age 87. She passed away peacefully with her children at her side. Anne was born in Lacombe, Alberta. At the ripe age of 19 she ventured to Vancouver & attended normal school to become a teacher. She began her teaching career in a one room schoolhouse in the remote settlement of Lone Butte, B.C. In 1946 after Dave's return from the armed services he sought her out & they married in Vancouver. Anne & Dave lived in Lacombe, Ab. for 4 years then moved to Bow Island, Ab. & both worked at their plumbing & heating business. As a young woman Anne took up curling & later grew to love the game of golf. She was an enthusiastic traveler always up to trying something new & she especially loved time spent with her family. In 1971 Dave & Anne moved to Abbotsford & Anne's favorite saying became "We love company." In the Abbotsford community Anne was very active in bridge, golf, curling & community services. Anne served as treasurer of the B.C. Provincial Curling Assoc. for 10 years plus. She is survived by her husband Dave of 63 years; her daughters; Pamella (Gaston), Sherry (Neil) Brausen, grandson Andrew, sons; Keith (Colleen), grandson Conrad (Louisa), granddaughter Erin (Colin) White, great grandchildren Kahlen & Cole. Wayne & grandson Ben. Predeceased by grandson David. Anne's kindness & generosity touched everyone she knew. A celebration of Anne's life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 at Ledgeview Golf & Country Club. 35997 McKee Rd., Abbotsford at 2:30 p.m.
