COOK, Beverley Ann

Passed away June 2, 2010 at 62 years of age after a 15 year fight with Multiple Myeloma and associated complications. She remained positive and caring for others to the end. Beverley was a devoted stay at home Mom for her three children. She was a Paul Harris Fellow and worked as a Social Worker, having earned a BA from the University of Alberta (1972) and a BSW from UBC (1991). She most recently lived in Coquitlam for 19 years. Beverley is survived by her husband Norman (1968); sons Arthur Alan (fiancé Adriana Horvathova) of North Vancouver; Joseph Matheson (wife Ewelina) of Washington D.C. and daughter Jessica Ann MacLeod (husband David)of Abbotsford. She will always be remembered as a loving Nana by her four grandchildren, Grayson, Noah, Hanna Lei and Abbey Rose MacLeod. Beverley is also survived by her parents, Doreen and Ed Turkington (Victoria); sister Barbara (Edmonton) and brother Bob (Victoria) and their families; sister-in-law Lona and husband Charles (North Saanich). A service will not be held. Thanks to Bob for donating his bone marrow to make a transplant possible in 1995. Thank you to Dr. John Shepherd (Vancouver Hospital) and Dr. Terrie Cordoni (Coquitlam) for helping instill the confidence in Beverley to face her many challenges over the years through your caring and competence. A special thanks to Ann for a love and dedication to Mom that enhanced her longevity and quality of life.
