Brenda James “Charlie” Doyle

December 21, 1928 – July 24, 2019
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father, Brendan (Charlie) Doyle. Charlie passed away after a brief illness on July 24, 2019 at the age of 90. Charlie was predeceased by our Mum, Doreen, in 2015, after 64 years of marriage. Charlie is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Lorraine (David), Linda (Les), his five grandchildren Kevin, Jennifer, Tammy, Elyse and Krystina, along with six great-grandchildren Jesse, Jayden, Logan, Jordynn, Oliver and Elliot, his sister Ann and cousin Mary who reside in England. Charlie was a charismatic man full of life and laughter who touched everyone he met. He was successful in his work in the aircraft industry in both England and here in B.C. at Avcorp (formerly Canadian Aircraft Products) where he commenced work a few days after emigrating from England to Canada in 1967 and where he remained until retirement. His colleagues who worked with him respected him and remained in touch with him up until his death. Charlie’s Angels Aviary was a passion of Dad’s for a number of years where he and Mum raised exotic birds, some of which won best in show at the numerous competitions he and Mum entered and attended. After Mum and Dad moved from South Burnaby to Mission in 1980, Charlie joined the Mission Golf Course becoming not only an avid golfer but an active member/director of the club for a number of years. He assisted with ensuring the gardens around the clubhouse looked their best and participated in promoting the junior golf program. Charlie always had a caring heart and was always available if his family or friends needed assistance. No matter what, you could count on Charlie! He was a friend to many and shared laughs with all. He will be remembered for being strong, kind, good-natured, caring and having a wonderful smile on his face. We will cherish all our memories of Dad’s kind heart and tireless generosity to others, especially to our Mum. Thank you to all the staff at Mountain View Manor in Delta and his doctors who ensured Charlie’s past two years were happy ones. A family gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate Charlie’s life. Condolences may be offered at: www.deltafuneral.ca – Delta Funeral Home (604) 946-6040
