DICK, Christopher James

April 7, 1989 - April 22, 2017

It is with profound sadness and deep regret that we announce the passing of our son, brother, uncle and friend, Christopher James Dick, 28, of Vancouver BC, in a car accident in Abbotsford, BC, on Saturday, April 22, 2017.

Christopher was born April 7, 1989 in St. Catherines, Ontario and grew up moving around, living in California, Saskatchewan, Kelowna, Abbotsford, Edmonton, and Vancouver. Spending his early years growing up in California, he always had a love for the sun, ocean, and sand, which translated into his love of travel and eventual discovery and love of sailing and was always a Cali boy at heart. Christopher was an avid sailor, hockey player, and snowboarder. His infectious laugh, love for life, dance moves, storytelling, and spirit of adventure were contagious and impacted all those around him. His travels took him all around the world, sailing across the Pacific Ocean from Maui to Victoria, travels throughout much of Asia, Latin America and Europe. Christopher was a Journeyman with three trades; plumber, gasfitter and steamfitter, graduating from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) and was a member of UA Local 488 in Alberta. Christopher's impact on people truly spanned the globe and his sudden passing leaves a gaping hole in the lives of all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his mother Friedrun Cornelia Dick (Reichert) in 2006. He is survived by his father and stepmother; David and Patricia Dick, Abbotsford, his brother; Philipp (Elysia) and Arie Sebastian Reichert, Lake Country BC, and sister Julia Reichert-Dick, Kelowna BC. Also mourning his sudden departure are his stepsiblings, many uncles, aunts, cousins in Germany, the Netherlands, France, and Canada, as well as many close friends who are a part of Chris' family who will all miss him dearly.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Christian Life Community Church, 35131 Straiton Road, Abbotsford, BC V2S 7Z1.
