Cornelius Edward (Ed) Hamm

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Cornelius Edward (Ed) Hamm on May 25, 2017 at the age of 85 in Kamloops, BC. Ed was born in Zenata, Saskatchewan, and lived most of his life in the Abbotsford-Langley area of BC. He married his childhood sweetheart, Sharen in 1951 and they had four sons. Ed was always foremost a family man. Ed worked for BC Hydro for many years before retiring at the age of 57. He spent most of his leisure time fishing and camping, and in his retirement years he also enjoyed golfing. Ed and Sharen spent many winters in Arizona enjoying the warm climate and good friendships. Ed is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sharen, sons Bob (Linda), Ken (Patti), and Don (Diane), 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sisters Anne and Hilda (Peter), and brothers Peter (Kathie) and Alfred (Bev). Ed was predeceased by his son, Gordie, at the age of 9. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the BC Children’s Hospital. We were all blessed to have had Ed in our lives. We share many memories of him, and will always remember him with great love. There will be a gathering to celebrate his life Saturday, June 24th between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at Cascade Community Church, 35190 DeLair Road, Abbotsford.
