David George Bruntlett

January 2, 1934 – August 2, 2019
Dave was the son of Walter and Rebecca Bruntlett. He was predeceased by his son Mark David Bruntlett on June 11, 2018, brothers; Charles, John, Robert and William and sisters Margaret and Mary. Dave is survived by his wife Darlene (Borg), daughters Wendy Rempel, Lana Hess (Kenny), daughter-in-law Lanis Bruntlett, sisters-in-law Sharon Nelson, Jeannette NcCorchuk, Eva and Violet Bruntlett. He is also survived by grandchildren: Wendy’s children; Kristen (Dave), Blair (Meghan), Tiana (Brandyn), Meghan and Breanne, Lana and Kenny’s children; Brian, Dustin, Jenna (Jimmy), Kate and Becca (Pat), Mark’s children; Kyle and Miranda, great grandchildren; Madison, Zoe, Parker, Luka, Alden and Henry, and many nieces and nephews. Dave worked at many different jobs over the years as a Boomman in different areas of BC, as a commercial fisherman, owned his own boat, fishing up and down the Fraser River. He worked for over 40 years as a Tugboat Captain with Riv-Tow Straits. Dave was a very proud man and he loved his family and treasured his friends. Thank you to all his friends for the many visits and phone calls. Dave took pride in having the best kept place on First Avenue. He loved gardening and made sure family and friends reaped the benefits of his hard work. Dave always made wife Darlene and his family very proud.
Dave’s Celebration of Life will be held on September 7, 2019, 1 -4 pm, at Matsqui Hall, St. Olaf Street, Matsqui.
