September 10, 1922 – February 23, 2020
Doreen Hazel Holley (nee Harris), age 97, born September 10, 1922, passed peacefully Sunday, February 23, 2020 at the T.R.I.M. in Mission, BC.
She was predeceased by her husband William E. Holley in 2009, her daughter, Beverley Conway (nee Holley) in 2008, her son James (Jill) Holley in 2012, her parents, James and Lillian Harris and sister, Barb.
Doreen is survived by her daughter Lynne Meyer (Brian), her son Earl Holley, her nine grandchildren Marnie Meyer, Shannon Meyer, Heather Cowsert (nee Fellows), Jay Meyer, William Fellows, Adam Holley, Ian Holley, Kristine Holley, Sean Holley and eight great grandchildren.
Doreen grew up in North Vancouver where she met and married her husband, Bill in 1943. Bill was part of the Canadian military, the R.C.A.F. Life in the military took Doreen and Bill across Canada and Europe and finally Mission, BC where they retired in the early 1970’s.
Doreen is fondly remembered by her family and friends to whom she was fiercely devoted. She had a great sense of humour, wit and just a touch of stubbornness. Doreen also had a tremendous love and respect for the many dogs they had over the years. Particularly her special little bichon, Katie.
The family would like to extend their heart felt gratitude and love to Elaine Peterson for all of her love, support and special friendship with Doreen over the years. Also, their gratitude to the medical team and staff of The Carrington House and at T.R.I.M.
