October 29, 1954 - June 28, 2019
It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of Douglas James Aspen. Doug was born October 29, 1954 to Ron and Dorothy Aspen, he was the 6th of 7 children. He is survived by his loving wife Ruth, daughter Mandy, son Daniel, step-sons Scott and Michael, grandchildren Phoenix and Reef, mother Dorothy, siblings; Larry & Barb, Olene & Roy, Shirley & Warren, Tom & Carol, Eleanor, Laura & Steve, many nieces and nephews. Doug came to Mission in 1956 with his family. He attended Dewdney and then Mission Secondary. He journeyed to Australia in 1973, where he fell in love with the place. He returned in 1980 working for a bakery for several years which took him to early retirement. Doug's favourite pastimes were fishing, boating and BBQing. Doug was a very kind and gentle person. He is loved and will be remembered by his family and many friends.
