With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Earl Schmor in Mission, B.C., at the age of 88.

Earl will be lovingly remembered by Ruth, his wife of 59 years; his daughter, Christine; his sons, Bruce (Katrina) and Brent (Carolynn); his brother, Robert (Mary); and his grandchildren, Ella, Lucy, Macintyre and Benjamin.

Earl was born to Herman and Nettie Schmor in Hepburn, Saskatchewan.

He is predeceased by his brother, Marvin; and his sisters, Grace, Pearl, Blanche, and Jennifer. He is also predeceased by his beloved daughter, Sally, and daughter-in-law, Rita Grewal.

Earl began his teaching career at the age of 17. He taught in several school districts in Saskatchewan and British Columbia before settling with his family in the Fraser Valley where he taught at Mission Junior/Senior Secondary for 35 years. His lifelong love of learning and his passion for music, theatre, and sport inspired many generations of young people.

Family, friends, former colleagues and students are invited to attend a memorial service which will be held on Thursday, March 8th, at 2 pm, at Cedar Valley Mennonite Church at 32860 Cherry Avenue, Mission, BC.

The members of the family extend their deep gratitude to the staff and residents of TRIM for their compassionate care for Earl during the last three years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Opening Nite Theatre Society (www.openingnitetheatre.com) or a charity of your choice.
