Ed Heijster passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the age of 62. Predeceased by his father Hank, he is survived by his wife, Lory and four children, Stephen (Julie) Heijster, Gary (Theresa) Heijster, Kristina (Jordan) Mohle, Kelsey (Justin) McCurdy, his mother, Cornelia Heijster and two sisters, Louise (John) Veenhof and Regina Kinnear. Ed was born in the Netherlands in 1951 and immigrated with his family to Richmond where he grew up. With his wife and children he has lived in Surrey, Delta, Salmon Arm and Abbotsford. He volunteered with Scouts Canada as a leader and as president of the Salmon Arm Lacrosse Association. He loved camping, old cars and working around the house. Ed was a loving husband and wonderful father. His loss will be felt by all who knew him. A celebration of Ed's life will be held at Cascade Community Church, 35190 Delair Road in Abbotsford on August 22nd at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the BC Transplant Research Foundation. Our heartfelt thanks to the Emergency and Cardiac Care staff at Abbotsford Hospital and to Dr. Kanji, Tina, Debbie and all the staff in ICU at Royal Columbian Hospital for their compassionate care.
