Ed SATCHELL

April 11, 2010

SATCHELL

Our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully with all of his family by his side at Christine Morrison Hospice, Mission on April 11, 2010.

Ed was born in Vancouver, BC to Bill and Mae Satchell. He is pre-deceased by his mother, father and brother John, and survived by his loving wife Olga, of 55 years, his children Gerry (Penny), Don and Wayne (Alison), his sisters, Violet, Daisy (Gordon) and Rose (Bob), and his grandchildren, Jeremy (Laura) and Kelsey.

Ed started his career on the CN Railway and then began work as a logger in various locations on Vancouver Island before returning to the Lower Mainland where he logged for Canfor-Harrison Mills for 47 years. In life and retirement, Ed enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing in local rivers and lakes up country. In winter, he enjoyed travelling to Yuma, Arizona where he learned to love golf. In summers, he enjoyed golf and his backyard vegetable garden. Our family would like to express our many thanks for the support and care provided by the Doctors and Nursing staff at the Mission Memorial Hospital as well as the Nursing Staff and Volunteers at the Christine Morrison Hospice.

A celebration of life will be held on April 17 at 11:00 am at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7286 Horne Street, Mission. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the BC Cancer Society or the Christine Morrison Hospice, Mission, BC as expressions of honour and sympathy. Rest in Peace
