McKECHNIE, Eileen Mary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our Mom. Eileen was predeceased by her husband Ken, in 2001, her daughter Jean in 1999, and her daughter-in-law Joanne in 2012. She leaves behind her sons Wes and Robert McKechnie, daughters Mary (Doug ) MacDonald and Doris (Randy) Mutch, grandchildren Jim (Jan), Janice (Paul), Jackee (Darrell), Julie (Davin), Peter (Janet), Bob (Crystal), Carla (Dean), great grandchildren Jacob, Trent, Aaron, Raven, Chayla, Kazuki, Kenta and Logan, her sister Margret and sister-in-law Hazel, also many nieces and nephews. Eileen was born in Weyburn SK and moved to BC at the young age of 3. She lived in the Fraser Valley until 1965 when the family moved to Caycuse. In 1977 Ken and Eileen moved back to the family home in Dewdney. Mom and Dad spent their time after retirement, enjoying family visits, traveling, gardening and playing endless hours of cards. In 2001 she moved to Lake Cowichan to be closer to family. She was there 10 years until her failing health forced a move to Chemainus. Mom was a beautiful lady inside and out. She was a very kind and gentle soul who loved to laugh. She dedicated her life to her family and has left us with wonderful memories. She will be missed dearly.

We would like to thank all the workers at the Chemainus Health Care Center for the wonderful care you gave our Mom in her final years. There will be no service at her request. The family will gather at a later date, to honor and celebrate our Mom's life.
