Elisabeth NEUFELD

April 25, 2016

NEUFELD; Elisabeth

Born Elisabeth Klassen (Elsa)

December 3, 1921 ~ April 25, 2016

Elsa was born in 1921 by the Dnieper River, Ukraine in a small Mennonite village where she enjoyed an active life as the oldest of five siblings. Unfortunately she was separated from her family when they fled the USSR in 1941. After a year of hard labour on the German-Russian front lines she returned to her profession as a nurse in Siberia. She very proudly worked in her profession, married Peter K. Neufeld and had two sons, Peter and Vladimir (Wally). After long years of hard work the family was allowed to emigrate to Canada in 1972 and she was finally reunited with her siblings. Elsa enjoyed a full life in Canada as well, where she was an active member of her church community, very involved with her growing sons’ lives and especially as a devoted Oma to her five grandchildren. She was a spirited and loving woman who spoke her mind freely and laughed hard. She will be dearly missed by her sons Peter (Heather) and Wally, grandchildren Emma, Linus (Yvonne), George, Bella (Alastair) and Asher and her many other relations. Service will be at 12:00 on Friday, April 29th at Eben-Ezer Mennonite Church in Abbotsford, BC. Online condolences to the family may be made to: www.wiebeandjeskefh.com
