Age 88, beloved wife of the late Walter C. Slack.

Betty is survived by her five children: Donald Slack, Julianne (Stephen) Baron, Peter (Kathy) Slack, Paul (Sharon) Slack and Wendy (David) Swanson; 11 grandchildren: Craig (Jennifer), Kevin, Ben (Lisa), Tara, Sean, Byron, Adam, Tyson, Amy, Michael, Kelci, and Erik; four great-grandchildren, Ethan, McKenzie, Kendra and Marissa. Also survived by sisters, Jessie (Allan) McGill and Stewart (Neil) McKinnon and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Edmonton and resident of Mission, BC for 61 years. Awarded a life-time membership in the Mission Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary for over 50 years of dedicated volunteer service. An avid recreational bridge player and prolific reader. Many Sunday afternoons were spent listening to Rex Murphy’s CBC Cross Canada Check-up.

The epitome of a daughter, ­sister, mother, grandmother and friend; loving, gracious, with a benevolent spirit and proud of her Scottish heritage.

A celebration of Betty's life will take place on Saturday, January 19, 2008 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #57, 32627 Logan Ave. in Mission (west of the Eze-Rent-It Centre).
