Betty passed away at Menno Home in Abbotsford on June 30, 2010. Her husband, Peter Thiessen, predeceased her. Betty is survived by her spouse, Jacob Goertzen, her sons, Robert (Patricia) Thiessen, and Richard (Gloria) Thiessen. She is survived by grandchildren, Ryan (Karen) Thiessen, Darin Thiessen, and Susan (Sean) Learmonth, and great-grandchildren, Jordan and Austin, and also brothers, John Weins and Rudy Weins, and sisters, Katherine Koehn and Bonnie Warner.
A viewing will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Arbor Chapel, Valley View Funeral Home, 14660 - 72nd Avenue, Surrey, followed by a graveside service at 11:00 AM. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at the Bakerview Mennonite Brethren Church, 2285 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford, BC.
