Elsie EPP

Elsie Margaret Epp (nee Rithaler) passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2013 at her new home in Abbotsford, BC. Elsie was born on September 26, 1930 in Bateman, Saskatchewan, the eleventh of twelve children. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Katherine and siblings, Frank, Elizabeth, Mary, George, Peter, Jake, John, Valentine, Carl and Clara, and her husband, Al (Abie). She is survived by one older sibling, Anne Schaefer; her children, Karen (Bruce) Broughton, Patricia (Kent) Reimer, Norman (Nancy), and David (Heather); her grand- children, Christopher (Jin) Broughton, Leah (Kevin) Schouten, Stephanie (Robert)

Heinrich, and Tim Broughton; Matthew (Trisha) Reimer and Amanda (Chris) Wamsteeker; Marla and Darren Epp; Taryn, Kaci, and Noah Epp; and her great grandchildren, Micah, Danika, and Jessica Heinrich; and Tamara and Trevor Schouten. Mom's work places included a general store in her hometown of Oakshela, SK, the Toronto Dominion Bank in Regina, a medical clinic in Ladner, BC, another one in Abbotsford, and Fraser Valley Refrigeration in Aldergrove. Most important to her, along with her family, were her faith in God, her church, her church friends, and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She served as treasurer and held other positions for many years at her church and the LWML. A memorial service to celebrate Elsie Epp's life will be held Friday, December 6 at 1:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3845 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford, BC.
