September 20, 1936 – May 11, 2020
Joan was born in Topsail, Newfoundland in September of 1936 and grew up in St. John’s, Newfoundland. She met and married her loving husband, Alfred Jones of Dryden, Ontario, in November 1954. They later settled down in Mission, BC where they raised their family. Joan is deeply missed and is survived by her loving husband of nearly 66 years, Alfred Jones; their 5 children, Daniel (aka Danny), Leonard, Wayne (Tammy), Wendy and Sean; six grandchildren, Anjelica, Braedon, Stephanie (Nick), Devin, Jordan and Kayla; as well as her sister Bonnie and her brother Clifford.
Joan and her family share a deep belief and great hope for the future – a time when we will all be together again and in good health; an assured expectation of a promise from God that will be fulfilled in the near future. (Titus 1:2, Revelation 21:3-4, Hebrews 11:1)
“Waiting ’round the corner
Is a world I long to see.
It’s a promise from Jehovah
It’s a guaranteed reality.
And it’s hard to get downhearted
When I think of what’s in store.
It’s the day I’m waiting for,
And it’s just around the corner.”Obituary
