MUELLER Ernie. Passed away peacefully at Surrey Memorial Hospital early on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the age of 68. We thank the ICU staff at Surrey Memorial for their diligent care of Ernie over the past few weeks. He is survived by his wife Judy, daughter Deborah Ross (Jerry) and daughter Dale Mueller (Lou), eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. In 1974, Ernie experienced complete deliverance from longstanding heroin addiction through faith in Jesus Christ. Since 1982, he devoted his life to helping addicts and alcoholics find hope in Jesus Christ and experience freedom from destructive life habits. He founded Set Free Ministries Society for prison ministry throughout the Lower Mainland and across Western Canada, and later founded Samaritan Inn Recovery Homes in Abbotsford. The story of his life and work is summarized in his book, Set Free. Through Ernie’s love for outcasts and wounded people, thousands of lives have been affected. Ernie is happy to be home now, but he will be greatly missed by all who know and love him. A Memorial Service to celebrate Ernie’s life will be held at 1:00 on Saturday, February 2, at Abbotsford Christian Assembly, 3970 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford (corner of Gladwin and Downes Rd.). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Samaritan Inn Recovery Homes, c/o Abbotsford Christian Assembly.
