With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our dear Mother at Crescent Gardens, Surrey, B.C. November 2, 2007. Born to Johann and Rosina Christen, August 4, 1915 in Vancouver, B.C. Predeceased by her husband Fred, December 5, 2005; her siblings Eric and Louise (Whitaker) and son-in-law Glenn Ellwood. Lovingly remembered by her daughters Helen (Russ) Clinton of White Rock, B.C. and Patricia Ellwood of Mission, B.C.; grandchildren Wade, Bryce (Patricia) and Geoff Clinton, Georgia (Ken) Rempel and Louise (Bevan) Rempel; great grandchildren Stuart, Ruark and Gavin Clinton and Jordan, Gabriel and Annika Rempel; sister Pearl (Geoff) Parsons; nieces, nephews and special friends. Ethel's early years were spent in Burnaby. Finding work during the Depression took her to Clinton where she met and married Fred, June 27, 1936. They pioneered in Clinton until retiring to Surrey in 1980. Ethel enjoyed entertaining her family and friends, gardening, sewing, travelling and many wonderful celebrations at their Green Lake cabin in the Cariboo.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Best Western Mission City Lodge, 32281 Lougheed Hwy., Mission, B.C. Ethel will be laid to rest with her "Freddie" at Clinton Old Cemetery in Clinton, B.C. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to a charity of their choice.
