"He noted that first came the date of birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years"
(The Dash poem, by Linda Ellis)
Eva's 'Dash' was a full, well-lived one. She had a long, happy life and marriage, filled with loving family and good friends. She loved her husband John (dec. 2009), her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was gracious, had a great sense of humour, was fun-loving, playful, quick to laugh; she was up for anything. She had an amazing "joie de vivre"! Eva had a positive spirit and loved life and was an inspiration to many. She had a great 'Dash'.
Living to 103 seems like a long time but when it comes to the people you love it is never long enough. She will be missed by many, but forever by her daughters, Janice (Therrien) and Donna.
Special thanks to Dr. Adam Siemens, and to the staff at The Cedars for taking wonderful care of our mom.
