CARRAT; Garnett & Delores


Sadly Garnett and Delores passed away peacefully at Abbotsford Hospital after both having battled cancer - Delores for 4 years and Garnett for 2. Delores died on December 9, 2015 at the age of 69; Garnett died on December 17, 2015 at the age of 71. Delores is predeceased by her mother, Lorraine and nephew David Halpin of Airdrie, Alberta. Garnett is predeceased by his parents Freddie Carrat and Marly Wallbank, sisters Linda, Vickie, Melody and brother Jay. Delores and Garnett are survived by their children who cared for them at home during their illness and sat with them in the hospital to the end: Jamie, Robin (Larry), Bob (Diane), Penny (Todd Hamel) and Jon and nine grandchildren. Delores is survived by her father Robert Bendickson, her brother Gary Bendickson (Linda) of Mission and sister Brenda Halpin of Calgary. Garnett is survived by his brothers Danny (Eileen), Lee (Lori), Kenny (Darcy), Kevin, Todd (Beth) and sister Trudi. Garnett and Delores are also survived by aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, foster kids, and a myriad of finned, feathered and four-legged furry companions. Garnett and Delores married in 1963 and lived in the various communities of Mission, Princeton, Prince George, Creston, Dawson Creek, Hope, Chilliwack and Abbotsford raising their family to love and strongly support each other. They are greatly missed. A service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 31165 Gardner Ave., Abbotsford, BC at 1:00 p.m. on April 2, 2016.
