May 28, 1967 - July 17, 2024

It is with great sadness and profound sorrow that the family of Garrin Robert Mang announce his very sudden passing on July 17th, 2024. Garrin was born in Maple Ridge on May 28th, 1967. He also attended school in Maple Ridge, but later became a student and graduated from Port Coquitlam Secondary to follow his passion for playing football. After high school, he went on to play football for Simon Fraser University and later played for the University of Saskatchewan. Never losing his love for football, he became an avid fan of the BC Lions and became quite involved with the organization. As a local coach, he touched the lives of so many young people in the Mission community. Garrin loved the outdoors with hunting and fishing, among many other interests.

Garrin was a man of sincere character and will be deeply missed by all who came into his life. He will be remembered most for his wisdom, kindness and boundless sense of humour. As a very successful commercial insurance broker, he made many contacts with business clients throughout B.C. His work and dedication to caring for his clients with a keen manner towards customer satisfaction enhanced his reputation as a caring and sincere person.

Garrin is survived by his parents, Robert and Marlene, his children, Mackenzie and Cash Mang, his loving sisters, Tara and Rebecca (Dustin) and their children (Baylor, Braxton and Blakely). Garrin is also survived by his aunts, Deanna and Julie (Tom), aunt Donna and his uncle Tom (Kathy), his cousins Matt (Jamie), Andrea (Rob) and their son (Jack). Garrin is also survived by his girlfriend Lisa and her son (Caleb), and his best friend Scott Stein (Danica), who shared so many of the adventures that unfold in a life well lived.

Garrin was known by all who knew him for his generous nature and keen sense of fun. He brought immense joy to his whole family and loved playing with his young niece and nephews, even hosting some special sleep overs. In their words, "Best uncle ever!" He possessed a great sense of humour and could keep everyone in stitches at many family gatherings. Garrin was a loving and dedicated father, and his love for his family will live on in all of us. He was cherished by his entire extended family and was a tremendous support to his loved ones. Too soon gone, Garrin will be always loved and sorely missed.
