CLAYTON GERRY. Gerry "Fred" Clayton age 76 passed away May 16, 2013 at Kamloops hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. Born at Kapuskasing, ON he lived in the Ottawa Valley and Ottawa, ON moving to Haney BC in 1968. He lived in Mission (Steelhead), BC, and 15 years at Monte Lake where he had a sanctuary for a menagerie of unwanted goats, sheep, llamas, horses, dogs, cats and fowl. An outgoing, charismatic he helped and gave many people a break. A rugged individualist with strong work ethics, endurance and versatility he saw opportunities everywhere and used them to make a living. Predeceased by parents Alfred Clayton, Anna & Robert Lusk & brother Jim Lusk, he will be sadly missed by partner Susan Hayes, sisters Fran Lavigne, Margaret (Peter) Fong, Dorothy Lusk-Trujillo, former wife Julie and their children Lynn, Robert, Randy (Gayle) Clayton, 3 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. We wish to express our thanks and appreciation to all the staff at Kamloops Hospice for their care and compassion, accommodating the needs of our family in a soothing home-like atmosphere. A memorial service followed by a tea will be held at 2:00 pm on Sat., May 25th at Westwold Community Hall 5108 Kamloops Vernon Hwy. Donations in his memory may be made to BC Cancer Foundation or to the Kamloops Hospice Assn.
