Affectionately known by many in Abbotsford as "The Christmas Lady", she passed away on February 1st at Abbotsford General Hospital. She was 77 years old.

Glenda Cox started her Christmas store almost 30 years ago. She and her husband Jim have lived on the family farm for over 40 years. She was the daughter of Frank and Jean New who moved to Mt. Lehman in 1955.

Glenda graduated from Abbotsford Senior Secondary in 1958 and was crowned as the honorary queen of Job's Daughters that same year. She married her husband Jim in 1962. They moved many times throughout BC in the early stages of his banking career and returned to Mt. Lehman in 1974. They raised their children James and Shawna on the family farm together.

Glenda was a dedicated mother and grandmother to five grandchildren. She loved being around children, attending horse shows, travelling with family and friends and shopping for Christmas treasures! Shawna will continue Glenda's legacy managing Glenda's Christmas Cottage in 2018 and beyond.

Many thanks to the Gill family doctors for Glenda's care over the years. A public Memorial Service is planned for Sunday, March 4th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Bradner Community Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Matthew's House in Abbotsford.
