BANNISTER Gordon. It is with great sadness that we announce that Gordon Alanson Bannister has passed away. Gordon passed peacefully on June 12 at the Dr. Stuart Pavilion at the Ebenezer Care home in Abbotsford with his good friend Nancy Olund by his side. Gordon was born in Mission on September 11th, 1939 to his proud parents Samuel and Emily Bannister. Gordon work for the Mission School District for many years as maintenance staff. He was a history buff and upon his retirement he spent most of his time tracing his family tree and visiting historical sites. Gordon resided in the Dr. Stuart Pavilion in the final years of his life and we would like to thank the staff for all of the loving and wonderful care they provided Gordon. Gordon will be greatly missed by his family and friends Colleen, Warren, Cheri, Neale, Dean, Nancy and Doug Olund. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 26, 2013 at 2:00pm at Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home 7386 Horne Street Mission.
