MacLEAN Gordon Laverne

May 25,1925 ~ May 2, 2013

Gord passed away just short of his eighty-eighth birthday after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn his wife Marlene, daughters, Sylvia (Bud) Clark, Louise (Len) Brown, Vickie (Larry) Hall and son Wayne (Rhonda), thirteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters and a large extended family. Gord was predeceased by his first wife Anne in 1984. Gord was a proud veteran of the second world war, serving with the "Calgary Highlanders" in Europe after D-day. As a faithful Legion member Gord always attended Remembrance Day services. Gord was a logger for 45 years and was a man's man with the disposition of a "Gentle Ben". Gord lived many years on Vancouver Island, Mission and the last eight years in Kelowna close to his son Wayne. A "Celebration of Life" with a luncheon will be held at 4160 June Springs Rd., Kelowna, BC on May 25th, 2013 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the hospice of your choice.

Rather than mourn the absence of the flame let us celebrate how brightly it burned.
