SWANSON

Gordon Crombie Swanson was born in London, England on June 29, 1938. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gord Swanson on December 16, 2008. He will be lovingly remembered by his former wife Wendy, his brother Ian and his wife Eleanor, their son Sean. Gord served in the Canadian Air Force in 1957 where he worked as a Supply Tech. A few years later, he left the Air Force and settled in Toronto and began working as a Heavy Equipment Operator. If anyone knew Gord personally, they knew his occupation. Gord was known in the community to be found at Stella's Restaurant & Lounge during evening hours. This was his time to socialize with the owners, waiters/waitress, friends and co-workers. The past year or so, Gord did casual work for the Mission Harbor. Gord's brother and his wife said: "He did love to tell a good story, he had a good heart, he was jovial and loved a good laugh." Now that describes the Gord we all knew. Danna and Kevin are asking all that know Gord "Gordie", to join us in his celebration of his life on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 3:00 pm at Stella's, 7230 Horne St., Mission.
