March 5, 1925 - August 20, 2020
Harm (Opa) Huizinga, 95, of Mission, BC passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Christine Morrison Hospice.
Born in Oldehove, The Netherlands on March 5, 1925 he was the son of the late Klass Huizinga and Altje Franssens. He had a wonderful sense of humor and if you had the pleasure of meeting him you knew this right away! His great love of animals was evident as he always enjoyed the company of his many pets. In 1950, he moved to Davos, Switzerland, married Corrie (Oma) and obtained his certification as a wood worker and had a successful career as a cabinet maker. In 1961, Harm and his young family moved to Canada and resided in Port Coquitlam until 1975 when they then moved to Mission.
Harm was predeceased by his wife of 58 years in 2008 and his daughter, Attie, in 2011, and is survived by his daughter Inge (John) and 4 granddaughters; Nicole (Rob), Melissa (Steve), Kristina (Nick) and Roxana and nine great grandchildren.
If considering donations, a contribution to the Christine Morrison Hospice in Harm's name would be much appreciated.
