Harold WRIGHT

WRIGHT; Harold Rankin. Dec. 22, 1921 ~ Dec 21, 2013. Harold passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Surrey Memorial Hospital after completing 92 years of life. He is survived by his daughters Val Wright and Beverley (Perry) Korness and son Keith (Corinna), brother-in-law Herbert Jenkin, sister-in-law Ann, several cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 62 years, Bernice (nee Jenkin) and brothers Avard and Lloyd. Harold was born in West St. Andrews, NS and grew up in Stewiacke, NS. He served as a Staff Sargent based in Halifax during WW II. After the war he moved to BC and while working at the Workers Compensation Board in Vancouver he met and married Bernice in 1948. They lived in Richmond and raised their family. Harold retired from the WCB as a Statistical Supervisor in 1981. He and Bernice spent the first part of their retirement years travelling by RV to Mexico, across Canada and throughout the USA. They continued to travel after moving to Abbotsford in 1989. Harold loved to dance. He joined the Senior's Center and lite up the dance floor every Friday night for many years. When Bernice passed in 2011, he moved to Langley where he spent the remainder of his life. He will be greatly missed by his family. No service or flowers by his request.
