MUSGRAVE; Helen Catherine

It is with great sadness that the family of Helen Catherine Musgrave announce her passing on the morning of Saturday, June 11, 2016 in Mission, BC. Helen was born to the late Joseph and Margaret (Campbell) Fish, June 2, 1929 in Toronto, Ontario. The family relocated to North Vancouver where Helen attended school. Helen married James Musgrave August 20, 1948 in North Vancouver, and they then moved to Mission, BC where they raised a close knit family and established many life-long friendships in the community. Helen’s sense of humor brightened the lives of many who knew her. She had many friends. To the great benefit of her family, Helen enjoyed being a stay at home mom and homemaker and she enjoyed hosting family events and holiday dinners at their home. In addition to this, she also worked at various times throughout the years in the Accounting Department at Spencers and Woodwards Department Stores, the Unemployment Insurance office and Prospera Credit Union. Her love of travel with family and friends, took her to many exciting places over the years. Cruising was her favourite mode of transportation and she made countless trips this way, most often to warm weather locales. Helen is survived by her husband “James” of Mission, three children, Jean Slusarchuk of Mission; Bev (Ken) Kirby of Richmond; Glen (Julie) Musgrave of Merritt and one brother Victor (Pat) Fish of Comox, BC. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Thank you to Dr. Rahimi and the staff at Mission Hospital and TRIM for their compassion and wonderful care. The family is appreciative. No funeral service by request.
