MULDER, Henry

1930 - 2013

After a lengthy battle with cancer our loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather was called home by the Lord on August 13, 2013 at the age of 83.

Henry celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary with his loving wife Jenny on July 24 of this year. Henry is survived by his 3 children John (Edna) and Tena (Paul) and Stanley (Jill). He was blessed with 9 grandchildren: Steven (Christine), Craig (Agi), Jason (Brenda), Brian (Stacey), Robert (Tiffany), Angela (Richard), Jennifer (Nathan), Hana, Jacob, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Henry was born in Donkerbroek (FR), The Netherlands on April 2, 1930 and was the second oldest in his family of 6. He grew up on a farm where his love of animals began and led to a hobby farm in his later years. As a teenager he began an apprenticeship in Carpentry and would follow this as his chosen career. In 1950 he met the love of his life Jenny and was married on July 24, 1953. After a few years, a decision was made to immigrate to Canada so the family left for Edmonton Alberta. They lived there for twelve years until Henry decided to start his own construction company in Abbotsford BC so the family moved west.

Henry took comfort in his faith and was an active member in the church community. He loved his family and took great interest in their well-being. Henry never lost his sense of humor. He was always willing to help others. Henry will be greatly missed but we will take comfort that he will finally be able to rest in the arms of his Lord and Saviour.

A memorial service for Henry will take place on Monday, August 19, 2013 at Living Hope Christian Reformed Church, 34631 Old Clayburn Rd., Abbotsford B.C. at 1:00 in the afternoon. We are deeply grateful for the loving care of the medical team on the Palliative unit at ARH.
