Henry Wall was born in Rudnerweide, South Russia, December 5, 1925. He immigrated to Canada in 1926 with his parents when he was almost a year old. They settled in Morden, Manitoba and later moved to Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. He attended school and church in Foam Lake until he was 12 years old. The family moved to Yarrow in 1937. Six months after moving to Yarrow, Henry’s father died, leaving his mom to raise four children. Henry continued his education, including Bible School. He was baptized in 1946 when he was 21. While in Yarrow, Henry met and married Nettie Friesen in 1948. They lived in Vancouver, Surrey and Richmond. Henry worked for Buckerfield’s for about 10 years and with Crown Zellerbach in Richmond until he retired. Henry and Nettie moved to Abbotsford in 1996 and they joined Bakerview Church. Henry enjoyed music, traveling, reading and a good game of chess. Henry was a man of few words, faithful and committed to God and his family. He moved to Menno Hospital in 2015 with Nettie. Henry passed away May 21, 2016. Memorial Service to be held Monday, May 30th, 11:00 a.m. at Bakerview Church, 2285 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford, BC. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to M.C.C. Henry leaves to mourn his loving wife of 67 years, Nettie (Friesen), children; Al (Dolores) Wall, John (Kelly) Wall, Barb (Warren) Schmidt, grandchildren; Mike Wall, Lisa (Jonathan) Robson, Joy (Ryan) Boldt, Jared Wall & friend Rachael Macleod, Karissa and Leanna Wall, Russel (Kelly) Schmidt, Christine (Daniel) Avitan, Jonathan and Joel Schmidt, three great grandchildren; Samuel & Aleia Robson and Emily Schmidt. Henry is also remembered by his siblings; Betty (Nick) Dyck, Pete (Thelma) Wall and Vic Wall. He will also be missed by many friends and relatives. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Menno Hospital for their kindness, love and support for Henry. He is predeceased by his parents Herman and Elizabeth (Kliewer) Wall and his young brother Johnny Wall.
