Iona Peirce was born in Calgary, Alberta, January 30, 1942. During her years she became a registered nurse, a school teacher and an accountant. She owned many dogs and had a doggy day care business called “The Happy Gang”. The dogs Iona owned were trained and went into hospitals and nursing homes as “pets and friends”. After several years of ill health she passed away peacefully at Menno Hospital, Abbotsford, BC on January 10, 2016. She was predeceased by her sisters Ailain Durant and Joan Hartman and is survived by her sister Doreen Holm of Winnipeg and by Arlene Austin, a dear friend of hers for over fifty years, who lives in Abbotsford.
