Born 1940 and deceased May 16, 2025. "It was a good run"

My fisherman has waded across the waters to the other side. Jim bravely battled cancer twice, recovering from colon cancer in 2015 only to be taken suddenly by lung cancer in 2025.

He had a long career in insurance claims industry mainly with Co-operators, later with ICBC retiring in 2005 as Commercial Claims Unit Manager. Restless in retirement he later worked part time as private investigator with Ridge Investigative Services until 2020.

Along with travel and golf he was an avid and skilled fly fisher, life member and past president of Dogwood Fly Fishing Club in Maple Ridge.

Long time resident of Maple Ridge recently moved to Chilliwack. Predeceased by father Don, mother Peg and sister Barbara Stedham. Left to mourn are brothers Dave, Craig (Roxann), mother in-law Olive MacCallum (she's 102) and sister in-law Barbara Henman and numerous nieces and nephews and their offspring.

His loving wife of 40 years, Nancy was by his side when he passed.

Private cremation. No flowers by request please consider donations in his memory to the BC Cancer Society. Cancer affects us all.

A Celebration of Life is being planned in next couple of months. Service details will be updated on First Memorials Website when it becomes available.
