In loving memory ~

On March 27, 2025 James Stanley (Stan) Weir passed away at the age of 70 after a near two decade battle with neuroendocrine cancer. Stan was predeceased by his mother and father, and is survived by his brothers (Drew and Ian), his sisters (Pam and Marcia), his daughter and son-in-law (Stacey and Randy) as well as his dearly loved grandchildren (Raya and Theo).

Stan was born and raised in Trail BC. He enjoyed organized sports which were a constant theme throughout his life. Stan was named Provincial Umpire-In-Chief and National Deputy Umpire-In-Chief for Slo-Pitch National, he was also inducted into the BC SPN Hall of Honour.

His professional life took him to several areas of BC as a teacher, principal and a leader within the school district. On his retirement he relocated to Johnsons Landing where he built a home on the shores of Kootenay Lake on family property. Stan was an ardent fan of a simpler life and surrounded himself with artifacts and Canadian mementos of times gone by.

At his request, no memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in memoriam can be made to the BC Cancer Agency. A special thanks to the Doctors U. Lee , Dr. P. Malpass, and Kamloops Hospice.
