October 19, 1946 - October 25, 2024
Jennifer Jane Jantz passed away on Friday, October 25th from pancreatic cancer. She passed away peacefully, thanks to the attentive care of the Mission Hospice staff. She was surrounded by family.
Born Jennifer Davies in Lancashire, England, she grew up in Worcestershire, before attending college in London. In 1969 she came to Vancouver where she met Percy and found they had a common love of travel. Married in 1970, they spent their early married years travelling before settling down and raising 2 children in Prince Rupert. It was their home for 25 years.
As empty nesters, they again travelled, working, and living in Ontario, Indonesia, and China for another 12 years before retiring to Mission in 2013.
Jenny's compassionate nature led her to a career in Education and she volunteered as support staff wherever she could. Being active in the community led her to the Friends-of-the-Library organization in Mission. She was also a volunteer in the same Mission Hospice where she eventually passed away.
Greatly missed by sister Sue, husband Percy, children Heidi (Murray) and Simon (Fanny), grandchildren Bronwyn and Malo, as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family. Her humour, kindness and compassion attracted friends from all over. She was a positive influence everywhere.
A celebration of life will be held in the spring
