KERN Joan Marie (Roth). May 16, 1942 - May 30, 2011. Mrs. Joan Kern of Bradner, BC, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on May 30th at the age of 69 after a two year battle with cancer. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Stan of 46 years, son Trevor (Dana) of Bradner, and daughters Michelle (Chris) Rottier of Dapp, AB, and Rhonda (Mark) Gjosund of Calgary, AB, adopted daughter Bobbi Stout of Abbotsford, and two grandchildren Hannah and Jared. She is survived by her sister Beverley (Orville), her sister-in-law Claudette, her aunts Lucille and Lil and nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her parents Fred and Alice Roth, and her sister Arlene and brother Dale. The family would like to thank Dr. Brown and Dr. Bull and the dedicated nurses at the Abbotsford Hospital Palliative Care Unit. A special thank you to RN Marina for the love and tender care she showed our Mom. A funeral service will be held at Heritage Alliance Church in Abbotsford on Saturday June 4th at 1pm. A donation may be made to the BC Children's Hospital Tribute Program in Joan's memory (604-875-2444). Burial to take place in Leduc, AB. Joan loved her family and many friends. Her favourite time of year was Christmas and she cherished the times her family was together. She enjoyed watching her family play sports, gardening, working outside, listening to gospel music, and loved all of her pets. She was a positive and hard-working person. She never gave up fighting.
