January 29, 1926 - September 5, 2018
John Dekker at the age of 92 went to his heavenly home to be in the presence of his Lord and Savior on September 5, 2018. His devotion to family and his firm belief in God supported him through life.
John was blessed with a large and loving family and is survived by his loving wife Jennie of 63 years, sons Harry, Harold, Ron (Carol), John (Audrey), Rick (Teresa), and daughters Trudy (Rudy) Russenberger and Felita (Ken) Gordon, also 27 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren and his extended family.
John was born in Holland and immigrated to Canada in 1951. He purchased his dairy farm in Dewdney in 1959. The farm remains in the family today and John loved visiting and staying up to date about what was happening on the farm. John and Jennie enjoyed their retirement years which included fishing, camping with friends and family, and many cruises.
The family would like to thank the many care aids from Abbotsford Home Health that provided John with exceptional care at home during the past few months.
A Memorial Service was held at the Canadian Reformed Church, on Monday, September 10, 2018.
