1951-2020 ~ It is with great sadness that the family of John (Jeffrey) Soul announce his passing early Thursday, September 24th, 2020.
He lived his life his way, proud and honest, and left us in the same way. Jeff did make it to know and meet his 3rd grandchild, Madison Elyse, after her miraculous birth in June of 2020. A special goal he had set when his cancer chemo treatments stopped working.
Jeff was born in Victoria, BC on Vancouver Island in December of 1951. He spent his first elementary years in a one classroom school in a logging camp, located at the north end of the Pitt River. He then continued his education in Vancouver, Sooke, and finally attending secondary school in Maple Ridge, BC.
Over his many working years, he had a variety of jobs including owner/manager of the Glacier Park Lodge in Rogers Pass, BC. Jeff then relocated back to Maple Ridge in 1984 where he spent the next 20 years as an owner/operator of Meadow Ridge Taxi Ltd.
After a short return to Rogers Pass for the lodge's final years, Jeff then returned to Mission, BC where he and his family resided and became a self-employed courier driver, until his retirement in December of 2018.
Jeff loved with all his being and left a legacy of love and respect. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Fondly and with love, remembered by his wife and best friend of 37 years, Susan (nee Drescher), his 3 daughters and their spouses, Anna Merrifield (Cody), Katrina Siderius (Tyson) and Jenna (Will Newman). Jeff was a very proud Grandfather (Papa) to 3 treasured grandchildren Adelina Lisa Marie Siderius, Weston James & Madison Elyse Merrifield.
Jeff is survived by his 3 sisters Linda (Mark), Marsha Leigh (Gordon), and Laura. He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Jeff was predeceased by his parents, Jeffrey Soul and Anne Stalmach, his beloved Great Aunt Mabel Issac, and his wife's parents and brother.
A private family (COVID19) memorial will be arranged at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation to BC Women's and Children's Hospital would be appreciated.
