June 6, 1942 - November 1, 2020
John Wilson Fleming, 78, of Abbotsford, passed away on November 1, 2020 from complications following heart surgery.
John was born in Powell River to Susan Letitia Fleming and Robert Fleming on June 6, 1942. He spent much of his career as an electrician. He lived for several years in Surrey, where he raised his family.
He moved to Abbotsford when he married his wife, Miriam. He was very proud of his membership in the Freemasons and the Shriners. He was especially loved as Big Foot, the clown. He and Miriam, whose clown name is Razzberry, performed together at various locations at home and abroad.
John was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved traveling and seeing the world, camping, football, cooking for anyone who arrived at the table, baking for his grandkids, and spending time with his family and friends.
John is survived by his wife, Miriam, his children Bonnie (Dave), Terri, Deanna (Vince) and Bob (Kay), his step-sons Doug (Sarah), Brent (Nicole) and his grandchildren: Janine, Breanne, Sager, Devonne, Autumn, Sheldon, Neleigha, Evan, Josh and Alyvia; and his chosen brother Richard (Jan).
He also leaves behind his many Masonic brothers. He is preceded in death by his parents, Susan and Robert, and his brother, Robert.
Due to Covid 19, a celebration of life will be postponed and will take place when it is safe to do so.
