It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our deeply loved Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend. Mom passed on Dec 26, 2024, at Abbotsford Regional Hospital at 81 years old.
Karin was born May 2, 1943, in Vancouver, BC to parents Rudolph Sutter and Olga Sutter (Midan). Predeceased by husband Joe (2015) and grandson Reid.
Karin is survived by daughter Donna (Bruce) & son Ken (Linda), grandchildren Clarke, Jacey (Colin), Janelle (Ryan), & Joel (Jamie), great-grandchildren Kennedy & Scotty. Also, her sister Glenna, in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Loved by those who were fortunate to know her, Karin touched the lives of many and was never shy about her world views.
In 1960, Karin married her soulmate & love of her life, Joe Appeldoorn, they shared 54 years together. They raised their 2 children, and as a family had so many adventures & memories exploring BC on camping & fishing trips.
Karin has called home to the communities of Vancouver, Pitt Meadows, Terrace, Abbotsford, Mission, and Armstrong. She & Joe enjoyed many years snowbirding in Arizona during their retirement years.
Mom was very creative, a master at sewing, along with other hobbies, such as knitting, reading, gardening and cooking. She enjoyed card games, crosswords & a good Scrabble game. During the years she was employed outside the home in real estate & clerical, she took pride in her work. The door was always open, & she welcomed visits from family & friends.
Her independence, courage & strength were admirable, she will be forever loved & missed.
