June 12, 1961 - August 7, 2018
Laurel passed peacefully in the presence of her Lord, surrounded by her family on the evening of August 7.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 35 years, Raphael, her children Rachel and Graham, and numerous friends and family.
Laurel was a gentle and loving wife and mother, unless you had tickled her; that would often leave you with a bite mark. If ever she was missing you could find her dutifully toiling away in her beautiful garden, which she was constantly expanding by stealing Dad's lawn millimeter by millimeter.
Teaching children was her life and she impacted many families as a preschool and daycare teacher in Mission and Abbotsford. She took great pride in the accomplishments of her children, her work children, and as an avid supporter of World Vision's Child Sponsorship Program, the accomplishments and growth of the many children she had never met.
Laurel lived with ovarian cancer for 3 years and always considered the journey more of an obnoxious roommate situation than an actual cancer fight. So now she has moved out.
A Celebration of Life will be held at North Valley Baptist Church on Saturday August 18th at 11 am. Excited by beautiful blue water until the very end, she asked that anyone attending wear an item of blue!
