STROMAN, Lennart Ture. Sept. 21, 1932 ~ March 13, 2014. Lennart was pre-deceased by parents Gideon and Lisa Stroman, and his brothers Rune and Hans Stroman, Bengt and brother-in-law Sven Mathiasson. He will be fondly remembered by Eva, his wife of 57 years, and children Ted (Sima), Kjell (Petra), and Johan (Julie) and his grandchildren Björn, Leif, Anika, Freya, Kristian, Mattias, Sarah & Lily - brother in law Mats & nephews & nieces Roger, Margareta, Jan, Eva-Mia, Björn, Dag, Lena & other extended family. Born at Akademiska Hospital in Uppsala, Sweden, and raised on Aspnäs farm, and served in the Swedish military. Lennart travelled in his early years around Sweden as a salesman of agricultural machinery and then to England. In later years business expanded to North America with Scandinavian modern furniture. He also worked with industrial machinery and as a Realtor before retiring. In the 1960's when he visited the West coast he fell in love with the rugged nature, the wide-open space of the Fraser Valley, and the beaches of Vancouver Island. He saw a great future for our sons, Ted, Kjell and Johan. Len loved fishing, goldpanning, hiking and mushroom picking - anything that brought us to the outdoors. We got to know wonderful friends and neighbours forever. In time we celebrated our sons' weddings and many loving grandchildren. All these happy years went by so fast. Our Len. You are here, but you are gone. Len's death was sudden, despite a long battle with cancer. The family wishes to express their sincerest thanks to Dr. Newton and Dr. MacGregor for their support and skills. Many thanks also to the doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers at both Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Vancouver General Hospital. A memorial will be held in April. In lieu of flowers and gifts, donations to Jean C. Barber Lodge (BC Cancer Society) are encouraged.
