Lois Eileen Duperon (nee Campbell)

Lois Duperon, 87 passed away peacefully in Mission, September 17, 2017, surrounded by loving family.

She was born December 23, 1929 on a farm in Daylesford, Sask. to Jackand Vera Campbell. Farm chores and school were her main responsibilities until in 1943 her

family moved to Haney. She completed Gr. 9. then went to work and when she turned 17 was allowed to attend dances at the Pitt Meadows Hall. There she met Ambrose Duperon Jr. and a month after turning 19 they married at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

They lived on a small farm in Dewdney with Ambrose's family for about 2 years then moved to Vancouver. After 8 years they returned to Mission with their children Ambrose and Angela. Lois worked at the local cannery to supplement the family's income, but loved to learn, so obtained her GED then graduated programs at Fraser Valley College and BCIT.

She was a loving mother who was an example of service, kindness and not to judge others. She volunteered with Girl Guides for close to 6 years as a Brownie leader then established the 3rd Mission Guide Pack which she was Captain. Lois quietly ensured any girl could join and fully participate regardless of finances or circumstances. With love and kindness, she taught the guides courtesy, tenacity, self-respect and to have fun.

For many years Lois held an Industrial First Aid ticket and volunteered with St. Johns Ambulance Service. She could knit, crochet and sew and had an artistic talent working with cross stitching and _ ower arranging. But her passion was found in genealogy, searching records, emailing, calling and even her and Amby travelling across Canada to search out every branch of the Campbell family tree.

Her journey ended with dozens of newfound friends and relatives, as well as over 400 pages of records and photos to share. When her grandchildren were born she gave such love and time that they would clamour to stay with "Nana" whenever possible. Their memories of baking, crafts, games and laughter will be cherished always.

Lois is survived by her husband of 68 years Ambrose Duperon Jr., son Ambrose Duperon III, daughter Angela Allen, 5 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, 1 great granddaughter and 1 sibling. She is predeceased by her parents and 3 siblings.

Funeral Mass will be held at 9 am, Saturday September 23, 2017 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 32550 7th Ave, Mission, BC.
