November 29, 1932 - November 3, 2021
Mary Bacon passed away at her home in Powell River, B.C. after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her loving family: daughter Elizabeth, whose personal sacrifice to care for Mary allowed her to die at home; daughter Sarah; son Matthew; six beautiful grandchildren, Nicole, Caroline, Abigail, Lauren, Katelyn and Nathan; and her great grandchildren, Liam, Harrison and Henry.
Born in Nuneaton, England, in 1932, Mary studied to be a concert pianist and worked in public libraries where she met Bryan, the love of her life. Mary and Bryan, Sarah and Elizabeth, emigrated to Canada in 1965. Matt came later. Mary graduated from Simon Fraser University with a B.A. in Psychology; she worked at B.C.I.T. in publications until her retirement. Mary was an avid gardener, a passion passed on to her children. She had fond memories of her time in Mission, BC where she lived for most of her retirement and she always spoke of England as home.
The family extends special thanks to the wonderful home care nurses of Vancouver Coastal Health.

"Morning has broken like the first morning

Blackbird has spoken like the first bird

Praise for the singing

Praise for the morning

Praise for them springing fresh from the world" from Songs Of Praise
