November 17, 1947 - March 14, 2022
With sadness, the family of Michael Beckwith announce that he passed away peacefully on Monday, March 14, 2022 in Abbotsford, BC, at the age of 74. He was born on November 17, 1947 in Vancouver B.C.
Mike had an interesting and full life. He was an accomplished boat builder, carver, artist and enjoyed many years in real estate in Mission. His passion for motorcycles took him on adventures with his brother Bill, sister Bette and friends Rob and Sherry. He also enjoyed happy days as "Captain Mike" on his various boats cruising the waters of BC, and later took several cruise ship holidays.
He had good memories of his years with Cooper Yachts and the friends he made there, especially Rory and Andy. He went on to build beautiful sailboats that are still enjoyed to this day. Mike was an avid hot rod enthusiast and enjoyed the car shows and bombing around in his latest showpiece. He also loved being part of the Stave Falls Fire Department. Mike enjoyed his homes and gardens and spent many happy hours with his beloved "Kiki" especially in his last years. He had great respect for his friends and they will always be remembered and appreciated.
His later years with diabetes and Alzheimers slowly diminished his quality of life but his spirit and dedication remained. He loved, and was loved to the end and will be dearly missed by his wife June (including her 3 sons, her siblings and their families) his daughter Briana, nephews Jason and Colin, sister in-law Frankie (and all their families). He was predeceased by his loving parents Maurice and Beatrice as well as his sister Bette and her husband Ken and his big brother Bill. There will be no service but friends are always welcome to stop in to visit and reminisce at his home or garden.
