WELFORD; Patricia (Pat). February 12, 1935 ~ May 3, 2014. Pat passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. The love that was present in that room at Pat's passing was a tribute to the woman who had lived a life that fulfilled the great commandment of "love one another". Despite the ravages of ALS Pat never gave up her role of wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband Peter and a marriage that lasted a wonderful fifty-nine years. Pat and Pete emigrated from England to Canada in 1975, they settled in BC and raised four great kids - Gary, Mark, Shelley and Patrick. They were the apple of Pat's eye and woe betide you if you made any less than complimentary remarks about her brood! Pat is survived by her daughters-in-law Lori, Pat, Kathy and son-in-law Rick. Over the years Pat and Pete were thrilled to welcome into the family home grandchildren Adam, (Melissa), Kent, Danielle (Daniel), Lauren, Hailey (Mark) Megan, Emily. Kelsey (Brody), Miles and finally Kimberley. To round off the family the arrival of a great-granddaughter little Lily, she completed the Welford brood. Pat was thrilled to have so many to love and dote on. Others that will so miss our Pat are brother Pete (Christine) from California, sister Linda (Tony), and sister-in-law Peggy, who reside in England. All have been blessed by the seventy-nine years that the Lord gave Pat, she left an indelible mark on all the lives that she touched, she will be forever missed. A celebration of Pat's life will be held at Henderson's Fraser Valley Funeral Home 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford on Saturday, May 17th at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the ALS Society of BC.
