Petra died on October 24 in the ICU of Burnaby General with Dave and Alan present, Dr Lee and RN Grace gave hertheir best efforts in the final hours.
She was born in Babelsberg, East Germany to Herbert and Charlotte Frohberg and leaves behind brothers Jobst and Donald, husband of 52 wonderful years David, son Alan and his wife Andrea.
The family migrated to Quebec in the 1950s, she graduated as an RN from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital before joining CARE/Medico and working in Tunis' Ernest Conseil Hospital. There she met Dave, married in Ottawa in 1969, then headed back overseas for NGO work in Ceylon, Bangladesh and Haiti.
Returning to Canada they settled in BC, closer to her parents in Cobble Hill, lived in Port Moody, Maple Ridge and finally Mission. She was an avid gardener, Volunteer Cancer Society driver, great cook, superb Mom and will be sorely missed. Deserving mention are her fellow RN graduates, lifetime friends, especially Anne in Ste. Lazare.
We will gather at a later date to reminisce and party in her honour. No flowers please, the Kidney Foundation or Cancer Society are worthy causes. Or the SPCA, she did love cats.
