ABBOTT. Raymond Henry. Passed away June 2, 2011 at Gray Nun's Hospital, Edmonton at the age of 95. He was born in Cadogan, Alberta on April 28, 1916, and grew up in Edmonton. Survived by his wife of 69 years Marguerite (Brautigam) and their children Mickey (Mary) of Enderby, BC; Larry (Susan) of Berwick, NS; Ted (Mary) of Kamloops, BC; Sherry (Bill) Blancher of Balfour, BC; Steve of Prince George, BC; Carol (Paul) Kroeker of Chilliwack, BC; Judy (Udo) Weiss of Sherwood Park, AB; 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Also survived by 3 brothers-in-law Gord (Joyce) Brautigam of Mission, BC; Les Dainard of Mission, BC; and Martin Brautigam of Burnaby, BC; and sister-in-law Pat Brautigam of Quesnel, BC. Predeceased by his father William, mother Olive, brother Peter and sisters Betty and Marie-Louise. Ray & Marguerite farmed 50+ years on Nicomen Island before moving to Mission where they resided for 3 years. They relocated to Enderby, enjoying the Okanagan for 3 years before moving to Sherwood Park, AB, to live with their daughter Judy and her family. While farming Ray also worked for many years at Stave Lake Cedar Mill in Dewdney. No funeral at his request. A family gathering to be held at a later date to celebrate his life.
