On August 18, 2020, Richard "Dick" Cooke left this world to join his wife, and best friend, Phyllis Cooke (Fraser), who passed away suddenly in May.
Richard is remembered by his sons, Mason Cooke (Catherine) and Gavin Cooke (Jenna); stepdaughters, Lisa Fraser and Angela Webster (Doug); grandchildren, Cameron and Natalie Cooke, Kingston Cooke, Jessica and Jacob Webster; sister, Sharon Davis (Bob), and nieces and nephew, on both sides of the border. He is predeceased by his granddaughter Carly Fraser and his brother Clifton Cooke.
Richard was born on August 11, 1943, and raised in Cornwall, Ontario, where he attended St. Lawrence High School. He received his Elementary and Secondary School teaching certificates from Ottawa Teachers' College. He most fondly remembered his time teaching at Barton Secondary, in Ontario. Outside of the classroom, Richard was a devoted member of the SDG Highland Regiment.
Richard moved to British Columbia, in 1978, with his young family, and made Mission his home. He was a proud supporter of the Lions Club and the Mission Chamber of Commerce, who voted him "Citizen of the Year 1993".
Dicky, Dad, Grampa, you will be sadly missed by us all. Your story-telling and quick wit brought a smile to so many.
